About Us

Our ancestors migrated from the neighboring countries of Honduras and Mexico;
they intermarried with the ancient Mayas of Belize.They arrived here in Belize before the Caste War of Marcus Canul, our great great grandfather fought in the battle and defeated Marcus Canul in the northern region of Belize
.

Our ancestors contributed greatly to the construction of our 104 year old catholic church, still standing proudly. We are the descendants of two largest families in Orange Walk, the Urbinas and the Escalantes.

St. Christopher's Hotel, one of Orange Walk's most renowned hotels was constructed on the banks of the tranquil waters of the New River, over the period 1988 - 1996 by Hector & Emelita Urbina and Family, owners and proprietors. The hotel was named after the patron Saint of travelers, St. Christopher. Our property is bordered by the New River along its luscious foliage, crocodiles, birds, iguanas, tarpons, and the elusive; the otter.
